Gaithersburg Sports Association Wrestling League

Gaithersburg Sports Association sponsors teams competing in an instructional (intramural) wrestling league with emphasis on sportsmanship, fun, and learning basic wrestling skills. Anyone between 6 and 14 years old is eligible to participate in intramural wrestling. Beginners are welcome. We will teach you how to wrestle. In addition to the 12 intramural teams that participate in the intramural league, we also sponsor teams in the Capital Area Wrestling League (CAWL), www.beltwaywrestling.org. The CAWL is a competitive league for experienced wrestlers from age 8 to 15 years old.

Practices for all teams are either two or three evenings per week at schools in lower Montgomery County. Intramural wrestling meets are held on weekends in January and February, usually at Gaithersburg High School. All wrestlers are encouraged to compete; there are no starting line-ups. Wrestlers also compete in a league tournament on the last Saturday in February.
